Formada en flamenco y danza española, pero también en baile regional, ballet, danza contemporánea y jazz, Rosario Castro contiene una amplia y dilatada trayectoria. Interpretativa, en compañías como la de Mariemma, Ángeles Arranz, Tomás de Madrid y el Ballet de Paco Romero, y coreográfica, al frente de la agrupación que dirige, Suite española, junto a su hermano Ricardo Castro. Con su propia formación ha estrenado trabajos enmarcados en la danza española como Sol y luna flamenca (1999), Orfeo (2000), Yedra alrededor del corazón (2001), Noche flamenca (2003), Mestizaje (2006), Silencio roto (2006), En clave flamenca y Carmen (2008), entre otros. Invitada como primera bailarina a diversos festivales internacionales, destaca de entre sus representaciones la realizada con el montaje Eterno (2005), estrenado en Tokio y mostrado posteriormente en el Teatro Mariinsky de San Petersburgo, en el que contó con la colaboración del bailarín Farukh Ruzimatov. Una colaboración que volvió a repetirse con Bolero, estrenado en 2007 también en San Petersburgo. Rosario Castro, que ha impartido clases magistrales a nivel internacional, participó junto a su hermano en la película El amor brujo (1984) de Carlos Saura.
