Jone San Martín

Coreógrafa e intérprete

San Sebastián, 1966

Bailarina y coreógrafa, ha desarrollado esta artista donostiarra casi toda su carrera profesional fuera, siendo Bélgica y Alemania los países donde más ha trabajado. En el primero, junto a las compañías Archipel Sud, José Besprosvany, Jacopo Godani y el Ballet de Charleroi. En el segundo, en el Ulmer Theater de Phillippe Talard en 1988 y junto a William Forsythe desde 1992, cuando el reputado creador la llamó para el desaparecido Ballet de Frankfurt, hoy The Forsythe Company, en el que desde entonces ha figurado como destacada intérprete y bailarina solista.

Invitada para inaugurar la exposición de Francis Bacon junto a Forsythe, Caspersen y Bürkle, en el Museo Haus der Kunst de Munich en 1996 y en la Fundación Cartier en una exposición de Issey Miyake en 1999, mantiene una estrecha relación profesional Jone San Martín con el mundo del arte. Como coreógrafa, ha creado piezas para la pintora Angelica Gilbert y la artista coreana Lee, el escultor Bruno Feger y Tamara Cirz entre otros. El cine y el vídeo figuran también en la trayectoria de esta inquieta artista. The mind of Dr. Forsythe y The way of the seed, de Fabrik, Jonemanak, en colaboración con Nerea Pagola y el vídeo para arte Meat me que coreografió junto a Fabrice Mazliah y Agnes Chekroun, algunos ejemplos.

Jone San Martín recibió en 2006 el Premio Trayectoria Artística que otorga la Asociación de Profesionales de la Danza de Guipúzcoa. En 2016 creó su propia compañía en Berlín.
